Janus 18

In the late 1990s, Bertil Vallien introduced works of art with a smaller head in the casting of a larger glass head. The faces are usually turned away from each other, giving associations to the Roman god Janus. Often, the back of the larger head is grinded in the shape of an ax. This breaks the light and multiplies the encapsulated face in an optical effect.

Unique piece.
